Grammar
1. We will reinforce "Subject Verb Agreement" Pages 104- 107 from our Grammar & Writing Book.
2. Present, Past and Future Tense will be introduced. Pages 110-113
Spelling
The contestants for the Spelling Bee will be chosen on Monday 21st . Everyone has the chance to win. Practice all your Spelling words from the 1st and 2nd Term.
The 5th grade Contest will be held in our School's Auditorium on Feb. 23rd.
The parents of the contestants will be welcomed to join us that day at 9:15 am.
General Knowledge
Our artist of the week is Rembrandt van Rijn. We will focus our attention in one of his masterpieces, The Night Watch. This picture must be brought , printed and cut on Thursday 24th.

Science
We will work with the topic "What are some Adaptations for Living in Water and on Land? Boys will be asked to bring two printed pictures, or two colored drawings, that show how adaptations help organisms survive in water and in land.
Reading and Writing
We will finish the story "The Fury of a Hurricane". Boys will bring a picture that shows the strength and consequences ashore of this type of natural phenomenon.

Book Project
Boys have been reading at home the story book "America's Most Wanted Fifth Grader".
Now they will write an article about it, that shows interesting facts of the story.
These are the guidelines for it:
Assignments
1. Practice the words for the Spelling Bee. 2. Bring a Spanish English Dictionary and your supporting material for the Book Project ( list of questions to be answered, mind maps, brainstormed ideas…etc) Remember that the project will be done in class.
3. Pictures that must be printed, cut and brought to class for the week:
- Consequences of a Hurricane. Tues. 22nd Reading and Writing. (only one)
- Adaptations that help animals survive in water and on lands. ( one for water & one for land)
- Rembrandt's Portrait and The Night Watch. Thurs. 24th, for G.K
