Nov. 29th - Dec. 3rd


Thanks for your contribution for our Thanksgiving activity. 
Boys enjoyed having a nice snack, and our maintenance personnel  was extremely happy and thankful for the lunch and the baskets  that they received.




I hope that you have enjoyed the Father and Son Retreat!


Our Term Exams begin on Tuesday.
  • Remember to study ahead of time, review contents from you book, notebook, tests and class activities.
  • Use your Study Guide, in order to know the dates and contents for each Term Exam.
  • Exams for this week:   Grammar- Tuesday 30th ,              Science Dec.1st and Reading and Writing Dec. 2nd.
  • We will review through out the week the contents related to our Term Exams.

    Nov. 22nd -26th

    We will celebrate Thanksgiving Day on Thursday 25th. Each boy will bring the contribution that was assigned previously. Let's give thanks to God for all the good things that we've gotten.

    Term Exams
    Our term exams will begin next week. Let's start reviewing and studying at home the following topics:

    • Finish the G.K Reviews from your notebook if they were not finished in class.
    • Complete pages 76 and 77 from your Grammar and Writing Book for Friday 26th.
    • Complete Maniac Magee activity for Friday 26th ( It was handed out last Friday 19th. )
    Father & Son Retreat

    Nov 15th to 19th

    ORAL SKILLS
    Boys will present their speeches during this week. It's very important to take into account the indicators that will be evaluated.
    Dear parents,
    Remember to SUPPORT your son with your guidance, let them do their job!!!
    READING AND WRITING
    Our Reading and Writing test 1 will be on Wednesday 17th. Please study:
    • Similes and Metaphors
    • Short Story "From the Diary of Leigh Botts "
    • Faith and Eddie 
    •  Tall Tales
    We will keep on reading the story " The Diver and the Dolphin". We argued in the classroom about how some human beings have injured and attacked such incredible creatures as dolphins.
    There is a very controversial documentary, that was filmed in Japan, that shows this cruel reality.

    If you will like to get an extra credit in our Reading and Writing test 1, write a short paragraph giving your personal opinion about this controversial matter. The documentary is named "THE COVE".Hand it in with your test on Wednesday.


    GRAMMAR
    Our Grammar test 3 will be on Monday 15th.
    SPELLING  We will not have a Spelling Test this week.

    We will keep on working on Donatello Di Nicolo Di Betto Bardi. We'll review some artists.


    Up- Coming Events
    • Remember to bring before Friday, 1 christmas wrapping paper, 1 transparent celophane paper and your contribution for the janitors'baskets. These will be assembled next week before Thanksgiving Feast.
    • Pictures from Raphael Sanzio for Monday 22nd: Sistine Madonna, The School of Athens, Transfiguration.
    •  Don’t forget your contribution for Thursday 25th. We will have a Thanksgiving Feast.

    Grammar Test 3

    Dear parents and students,
    Our Grammar test 3 ( only 5 grade C) has been changed from Friday 12th to Monday 15th. 
    Please practice the topics already mentioned.
    • Dependent and Independent Clauses
    • Compound and Complex Sentences
    • Irregular Verbs from 1 to 40 ( Base form, simple past and past participle only).

    Nov. 8th to 12th

    November  is already here. We have some upcoming events that need to be organized ahead of time.
    We will collect different 1st need items to build some Christmas baskets to our school janitors.
    We will arrange and decorate them for Nov. 25th.

    ASSIGNMENTS
    1. Write at home the sentences that were not written in class, from Spelling List #5 for Wednesday 10th.
    2. Print, cut  and bring to class the following pictures: Donatello's David and ConCondotierro de Gattamelata. (Attention to the size of your pictures)for Thursday 11th.
    3. Read Maniac Magee chapters 1- 20.
    4. Study for our Spelling test 5 words and meaningful sentences. Thursday 11th.
    5. Study for our Grammar Test 3: Independent and Dependent Clauses, Compound and Complex sentences and Irregular verbs from awake to feel.
    6. Next week, we will have our I Term Speeches( Oral Skills Term evaluation)GET READY!
    7. Poetry contest will be held next week in our School Auditorium.

    CELL PROJECT
    Due date is on Monday 8th. Remember that some questions will be asked orally about how you did your projects.Do your best!
